Super Eagles stand-in captain against Ukraine, William Troost-Ekong has been ruled out of Udinese's Serie A clash against Inter Milan at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Saturday, September 14.
Udinese manager Igor Tudor has announced a 22-man matchday squad for tomorrow night's match, with the Nigeria international and summer signing Stefano Okaka omitted.
De Maio, Samir, Stryger Larsen, Becao, Nuytinck, Opoku and Sierralta are the seven defenders named in the traveling party to Milan.
Troost-Ekong picked up an injury whilst on international duty with the Nigeria National Team, which led to his substitution three minutes to the end of the match against Ukraine.
If not for his injury problem, he would have locked horns with one of the best strikers in Italy, Romelu Lukaku who has scored in two consecutive matches for Inter Milan.
The Bianconeri have not specified the nature of the central defender's injury and his expected date of return to action.
Last season, the Super Eagle started 35 matches in the Italian top-flight and went the distance in the first two matches of the current campaign.
