Nigeria's goalless draw with Uganda in a pre-AFCON friendly gameĀ in November 2018 was the last time Isaac Success appeared in a Super Eagles jersey.
The constant snub from Gernot Rohr doesn't looks like it's going to change anytime soon except the player begins to do something extraordinary at his club Watford.
Four games into the 2019-20 season, the Nigerian winger is yet to feature in more than 37 minutes of action as he was behind in former manager Javi Gracia's pecking order of strikers.
Luckily for Success, Gracia was shown the exit door by the Hornets hierarchy after picking up one point from available 12 points.
Former manager Sanchez FloresĀ was reappointed by the club and Success must now follow his compatriot's footsteps if he must return to Gernot Rohr's plans for the upcoming AFCON 2021 qualifiers.
Odion Ighalo was an undisputed starter in Flores' team during the manager's first spell at the Vicarage Road, thanks to his goals and deadly partnership with Troy Deeney which produced some eye-catching goals between them.
Isaac Success will need to follow Ighalo's footsteps by breaking into Flores' list of regular starters as soon as possible. He must put in every effort to make sure that his place is secured in the team.
The former Granada star must help the team score more goals by providing some goalscoring opportunities. He should be more clinical in front of goal to win Flores' trust and fans' admiration.
Despite Rohr's conservative nature, it will be very difficult for the German tactician to ignore Success in his next squad list ahead of AFCON qualifying opener against Benin Republic in November as long as he maintains consistent performanceS for Watford under Flores' guidance.
