Glasgow Rangers star Joe Aribo has reacted to scoring on his international debut for the Super Eagles as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Ukraine in Dnipro on Tuesday evening.
Three minutes into the game, Aribo made one of his trademark runs into the box and slotted past the Ukrainian goalkeeper after a delightful cutback from Alex Iwobi.
His performance against the Ukrainians won him plaudits from the Super Eagles fans, who have likened him to Chelsea icon John Obi Mikel.
Rohr opted to play a double pivot with Aribo and Oghenekaro Etebo lining up in central midfield.
Reacting to his goal, Aribo posted on Twitter : ''Buzzing to make my debut for @NGSuperEagles unfortunate with the result but happy to score on my debut, a special day for me & my family and one I’ll remember. Thank you God''.
Aribo played his first international game wearing the number 10 last used by Mikel on the back of his shirt.
