U23 AFCONQ : Four Things We Noticed From Nigeria's 5-0 Rout Of Sudan
Published: September 10, 2019Allnigeriasoccer.com's Izuchukwu Okosi presents four takeaways from the Nigeria U23s 5-0 win against Sudan at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.
1. No Celebration For The U-23 Eagles Just Yet
The Eagles scored three goals in the first half but there was no celebration in the U-23 Eagles bench.
That was a positive trait and shows the team realize the enormity of the task ahead. The game eventually ended 5-0 (5-1 on aggregate).
2. Nwakali Masterclass
The SD Huesca midfielder had a great game on Tuesday despite being inactive for a while.
The former Arsenal youngster's range of passes caught the eye and a place in the Super Eagles should not be far from now.
3. Eagles Lost Chances
Despite the convincing five goals scored in Asaba, the Imama Amapakabo coached side lost several scoring chances in both legs of the fixtures.
The head coach is one that believes in attacking football so he has some more jobs to do so that they can edge past difficult teams.
4. The Fans Were Not In Large Turnouts
The gate were thrown open but the stadium was not filled to capacity as the Asaba and environs residents were largely still at work or in their places of business.
Kickoff was 4pm but perhaps there would have been more fans attending if it had been a 5 or 6pm kick off game.
