Manchester United 0 Chelsea 4 PL2: Olosunde Features, Kehinde Not in Squad

Chelsea U23s ran out 4-0 winners over their Premier League 2 counterparts, Manchester United U23s in their domestic encounter at the Leigh Sports Village Stadium on Friday evening.

Young Nigerian defender Matthew Olosunde started in defense for the young Red Devils while his compatriot Tosin Kehinde who it had earlier been hinted could be in line to feature for the senior side on Saturday was missing from action here.

Chelsea took an early lead through Juan Famillio-Castillo who darted in from the right wing before steering home a low finish into the far corner.

Reece James came close to adding a quick-fire second when he bobbled a fierce effort from the edge of the area but United goalkeeper, Kieran O'Hara turned it behind.

Olosunde called the opposition goalkeeper into action when he let fly from the left channel but Jammie Cumming was on hand to beat away.

Kylian Hazard lashed home the second goal for Chelsea after the restart after connecting with a Harvey St Clair's left wing cross with the ball deflecting off Christie-Davies and wrongfooting O'Hara.

Luke McCormick set up the brilliant James for the third with a blustering run to create a chance for the fullback to place a terrific finish into the back of the net before Harvey St Clair's made it four with another fine effort from a Joshua Grant's cross to wrap up the victory.
