Chelsea 3 West Brom 0: Moses On Target 10 Years After Scoring First Senior Goal Vs Baggies
Published: February 12, 2018Chelsea banished memories of their dip in form after seeing off West Brom 3-0 in their Premier League clash on Monday evening, with Victor Moses getting in among the goals.
The Nigerian international started for the Blues at Stamford Bridge in the encounter, his 19th appearance in the division this season.
West Brom did well to quell most of the attacking forays from the hosts and could have even gone ahead themselves after Moses had misplaced a header, with Jay Rodriguez dragging his shot wide of target.
But Oliver Giroud's delicate dummy allowed Eden Hazard to muscle off challenges on the edge of the area before racing through to place his shot into the bottom left.
Moses doubled Chelsea's lead after the restart, after prancing through the right flank to play in Cesc Fabregas who returned the favour with a flick and the Nigerian did precisely well to finish underneath Ben Forster.
The Nigerian continued to run at the retreating Baggies defender and nearly grabbed a second goal moments later but for Forster sticking out a leg to deny him.
West Brom were caught out defensively again, with Alvaro Morata laying off for the electric Hazard who drifted inside the area and slammed home with Forster nowhere near.
Moses scored his first senior goal against the Baggies on March 12, 2008 while defending the colours of Crystal Palace.
