Ex-Chelsea Ace Mikel To Alhaji Gero : All The Best Against Arsenal In Europa League
Published: January 31, 2018Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has wished Alhaji Gero all the best ahead of Ostersunds FK's Europa League round of 32 meeting with Premier League club Arsenal on February 15.
At a chance meeting with Mikel in Marbella, Spain on Tuesday, Gero revealed that he hopes to play with the Super Eagles skipper in the national team in the near future.
''It's great to meet a legend and also a leader like him,'' said Alhaji Gero to allnigeriasoccer.com.
''We had a good conversation on our Europa League match against Arsenal and he wished me success.
''Of course I'm really ready for any chance that comes with the nation and it will be great to play with him in the national team.''
Apart from the fourth round of the Europa League qualifiers when he was on the bench vs PAOK Saloniki, Gero has figured in every single game contested by Ostersunds FK in this season's competition and has scored 2 goals from 11 matches.
Mikel won the Europa League with Chelsea during the 2012-2013 season, he was on the bench in the final against Benfica.
