Ex-Nigeria U17 Invitee Scores Another Messi-Like Goal To Secure Win For Liverpool
Published: January 28, 2018An individual brilliance from former Golden Eaglets invitee Ovie Ejaria secured a 1-0 win for Liverpool against Derby County in the Premier League 2 on Sunday afternoon at Prenton Park.
The England U20 World Cup-winning midfielder was named in the Reds starting line-up along with in-form Ibadan-born winger Bobby Adekanye.
Ejaria embarked on a solo run inside the opponents 18 yard box before firing the ball into the far corner in the 87th minute.
The technically gifted midfielder also scored a goal of fantastic quality in Liverpool's 2-1 win against Newcastle United in the Premier League International Cup back in November which was nominated for Liverpool's Goal of the Month.
Including his strike against Manchester United, the former Arsenal schoolboy has now tallied 2 goals in 11 Premier League 2 appearances.
Due to Ejaria's lack of first-team opportunities, he may be loaned out to a club below the Premier League before the close of the January transfer window.
He has played eight games for Liverpool's first team since his competitive debut against Derby County in September 2016.
