Nigerian Defender On Target But Charlton Athletic Exit The FA Youth Cup
Charlton Athletic's FA Youth Cup journey came to an end following their entertaining 4-3 loss to Reading at Park View Road on Tuesday evening.

Both teams starting line-ups contained three defenders of Nigerian descent, captain Akin Odimayo and Jamal Balogun for Reading, while Sam Nwosu started for the Addicks.

Nwosu headed home from close range to give Charlton a 2-1 lead on 55 minutes, then Willis doubled the advantage in the 63rd minute.

There had to be 30 minutes of extra time after Holsgrove scored in the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time, and Loader's effort on 98 minutes was enough to take the Royals to the next round.

Prior to yesterday's game, Nwosu was without a goal for Charlton in 12 appearances for the U18s in all competitions.

Akin Odimayo and his Reading teammates travel to Colchester United in the fifth round.
