Published: December 21, 2017Barnsley U23s took a huge 7-1 trouncing at the hands of Leicester City U23s in the Premier League Cup at Holmes Park on Thursday evening, with the Foxes Nigerian starlet, Layton Ndukwu dazzling and grabbing a goal for himself.
On 5 minutes, Jacob Brown converted a spot kick to give Barnsley the lead after Palmer was fouled in the area.
The young Foxes rallied back and were soon level, courtesy of Darnell Johnson who raced into the area to slot home a loose ball three minutes later.
And Leicester completely turned the tide into the 12th minute, Sam Hughes rising highest to power in a bullet header from a George Thomas corner and make it 2-1.
Hughes would notch his second of the night with barely fifteen minutes played as their opponent's shoddy defending took another hit.

An own goal from Louis Waddle eleven minutes after the restart made it five before Josh Gordon added another to increase the deficit, arriving at the right time to knock beyond Barnsley goalkeeper.
Hamza Choudhury came off the bench to round off the scoring in stoppage time, rattling in a deflected finish as Leicester City moved seven points clear in Group F of the youth competition.
