Nigerian Striker Ruled Out Of Arsenal-Tottenham Hotspur Clash
Published: November 18, 2017Former England U21 international Chuba Akpom is not in contention to make his first Premier League appearance of the 2017-2018 season when London neighbors Tottenham Hotspur visit the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Logically, the Hale End Academy product will not be considered by manager Arsene Wenger, having gone the distance for the U23 team in their Premier League International Cup encounter against Porto on Friday night.
Although Akpom has made Arsenal's match day squads for competitive fixtures six times this season, he has only appeared in one game, against Norwich City in the League Cup when he came off the bench.
The 22-year-old has not featured for the Gunners in the Premier League since February 7, 2015.
Akpom has netted seven professional goals in his club career up to now, all of them coming whilst he was on loan at Championship outfit Hull City in the 2015-2016 season.
The Nigeria Football Federation target has been on the books of Arsenal for sixteen straight years.
