Why Nigerian Duo Will Not Make Manchester United Debut Against Swansea City
Published: October 24, 2017Manchester United's Nigerian-born midfielder Tosin Kehinde will definitely not make his competitive debut for the Red Devils when they face Swansea City in the Carabao Cup round of sixteen on Tuesday night.
The 19-year-old has been an influential player for the U23s this season, starting their last four matches in the Premier League 2, but will be left out of the provisional squad as he went the distance against Liverpool on Monday night.
United States youth international Matthew Olosunde is also not under consideration as he is still recovering from an injury he suffered against Derby County a month ago.
With Wilfried Bony still on the sidelines because of a hamstring problem, Swansea City manager Paul Clement is unlikely to rest Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham.
If the England U21 sensation features against Manchester United tonight, it would be his 12th consecutive game for the Swans in all competitions.
In other fixtures involving Nigerian players, Leicester City will take on Leeds United, Manchester City host Wolves,
AFC Bournemouth and Boro face off at Dean Court and Crystal Palace travel to Bristol City.
