Dutch Federation Punish Vitesse For Abiola Dauda Blunder
Published: November 29, 2016Jong Vitesse have been deducted three points by the Dutch Federation for running afoul of the rules of the Dutch Second Division.
The KNVB took the decision after Jong Vitesse fielded three first-team players Abiola Dauda , Kosuke Ota and Nathan Allan de Souza, one more than the required number, for a game in the division against Barendrecht on November 12.
The Nigerian striker bagged a hat-trick versus Barendrecht, his second of the campaign in the Tweede Divisie, as both teams played out a 4-4 draw but the goals have become invalid because the game has to be replayed.
Dauda has seen his first team opportunities limited this season and has mostly played for Jong Vitesse in the third-tier.
The former Red Star Belgrade and Kalmar star comes off contract with Vitesse in June 2017.
