Osimhen strikes again from the spot: Sixth penalty goal fires Galatasaray past Konyaspor
Published: January 25, 2025Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen continued his remarkable scoring form, netting the decisive goal as Galatasaray secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Konyaspor at RAMS Park.
Osimhen, who joined the Turkish giants on loan from Napoli last September, has quickly endeared himself to the Galatasaray faithful with his consistent and impactful performances.
Before the match, the Nigerian international had already registered 15 goals and five assists in 19 appearances across all competitions.
The 25-year-old striker once again proved his worth, converting a first-half penalty that he earned himself to give Galatasaray the lead.
The goal marked Osimhen's 16th of the season across all competitions with six of them coming from penalties.
Osimhen's recent form has been pivotal for Galatasaray, having scored in his last two matches.
He was on target in the 1-1 draw against Hatayspor in the league and also found the net in the thrilling 3-3 draw against Dynamo Kyiv in the UEFA Europa League.
His performances have reportedly attracted the attention of several top European clubs, but Osimhen remains focused on his current mission in Istanbul.
His contributions have been instrumental in Galatasaray's push for the league title, with the team sitting comfortably at the top of the table, nine points clear of second-placed Fenerbahce.
As the season progresses, Osimhen's form will be crucial to Galatasaray's ambitions in both domestic and European competitions.
