Algeria Coach : We Have No Messi, We Will Do Everything To Beat Nigeria
Published: November 01, 2016Speaking at a press conference shortly after the list of 18 foreign-based professionals summoned for the World Cup qualifier against Nigeria was announced, Algeria manager Georges Leekens has stated that he will assist the national team qualify for the 2018 World Cup.
“I arrived a little late, since only a few days before this important match, but I’m a worker and will do everything to help Algeria fetch a good result in Nigeria, ” Leekens said.
“We will do everything to go to Russia but I’m not a magician, I ask you to be behind us.”
Asked about the quality of players in the Algeria squad, the Belgian replied : “We have no Messi, but good players. However, it will work to achieve our goals. It will also require a good spirit within the group to succeed.”
