The 28 - year - old , who is a former England international , is up against two players from Arsenal - Olivier Giroud and Francis Coquelin - Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini, Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson.
Last month, Agbonlahor notched up three goals in the Premier League, scoring against West Brom and Sunderland (2 ).
The Anglo -Nigerian is the top scorer for Aston Villa in the topflight this season, with 6 goals in 28 matches.
His manager , Tim Sherwood, has been nominated for the Barclays manager of the month award.
