Yakubu Aiyegbeni Dreaming Of Wembley Appearance
Published: February 16, 2015There is one thing that stands out for footballers playing in England, which is an appearance in the famous Wembley Stadium.
Yakubu Aiyegbeni, who netted the match - winner for Reading in their FA Cup win over Derby, is dreaming of making an appearance in the hallowed turf come May when the final is played.
If not for injury, the Nigeria international would have had the chance to grace the Wembley turf when his former team Everton lost to Chelsea in the FA Cup final back in 2009.
“I have never played at Wembley, so I hope we get there. You have to believe that a team from outside the Premier League can get there.
“If you don’t believe, you are not going to do it, ” Yakubu was quoted as saying by Daily Star.
The 32 - year - old joined Reading as a free agent in the January transfer window.
