Ikechukwu Uche Sends Get Well Wishes To Wilfred Agbonavbare
Published: January 25, 2015Villarreal striker Ikechukwu Uche has sent get well wishes to retired Nigeria international Wilfred Agbonavbare.
The former New Nigeria Bank glovesman is battling against cancer at a hospital bed in Spain after he was flown from the United States.
“My prayer for Wilfred, former Nigerian legend goalkeeper. #FuerzaWilfred. My support for his family and friends, ” said Ike Uche on Twitter.
Now 48, Wilfred Agbonavbare was in between the pipes at the Fifa Under 20s in 1983 when Nigeria met Holland, and he stopped a certain Marco Van Basten from scoring, as both teams played a goalless draw.
He spent six seasons at Rayo Vallecano before joining écija.
