Innocent Emeghara Was Granted Compassionate Leave, Qarabag Insist
Published: December 22, 2014Qaraba FK manager Gurban Qurbanov has insisted that Innocent Emeghara is still tied to the club, with reports suggesting that he will not honour the last two and a half years of his contract.
For the past few days, the Switzerland international has not participated in training with the Azerbaijani champions.
But the coach has played down talk that he has terminated his deal, saying he was granted compassionate leave to sort out pressing family issues.
“Emeghara is still under contract with Qarabag. His mother has health problems, which is why he left the location of the team.
“His continued presence in the team, we think it over later and decide everything,” Gurban Qurbanov was quoted as saying by azerisport.com.
Despite joining Qarabag in October, Emeghara is the second highest goalscorer for the Horsemen, having netted 5 goals in 8 Premier League games.
