Adegboye Onigbinde Thumbs Up Ibadan Unification Match
Published: December 16, 2014FIFA/CAF advisor, Chief Adegboye Onigbinde has commended the Heroic Image Sports Club the master minder of the unification football match scheduled for Sunday this weekend between footballers from the East and Western part of the country at Lekan Salami Sports Complex Ibadan.
The match according to the president of the club that is organizing the event, Kenneth Umeh was designed to strengthen the bond between players resided in Ibadan, both active and retired and to raise funds to assist the ones in distress.
While reacting on the match, Chief Onigbinde who also based in Ibadan said the idea of coming together of all prominent players in Ibadan to play and raise fund to cater for the distressed one is a fantastic one stressing that he often moved to tears seeing some of our players especially the ones residing in Ibadan living in abject poverty and pitiful state.
He however, urged the sincere football fans that have enjoyed the services of these players while active to storm Lekan Salami in large numbers to watch the unification game so that the organizer can be encouraged to continue with the good work.
Meanwhile, 3SC Team Manager, Dimeji Lawal who is part of the organizers of the event, Ike Shorunmu, Super Eagles Goalkeeper trainer, Gbenga Okunowo, Duke Udi ex-Shooting Stars and Super Eagles midfielder, now Coach of Giwa FC, Bright Omokaro, Tony Alegbe, Femi Opabunmi Mutiu Adepoju, Ajibade Babalade, Muyiwa Lawal among others have been training hard to exhibit what is left in their kitty come this Sunday.
