Osimhen at the double as Galatasaray drop points in thrilling draw with Kasimpasa
Published: March 02, 2025
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen scored twice as Galatasaray played out a thrilling 3-3 draw against Kasimpasa at the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Osimhen, who is on loan from Napoli, has been in outstanding form for the Turkish giants across all competitions.
He proved to be a constant menace for the opposition defense and opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a well-taken penalty he won himself.
After goals from Mortadha Ben Ouanes and Josip Brekalo, and Mario Lemina's strike for Galatasaray, Osimhen restored his team's lead in the 71st minute with his second goal of the match.
However, with just five minutes left, Hajradinovic equalized for the hosts to ensure the points were shared.
Osimhen was a dominant presence throughout the game, recording two shots on target, having two more attempts blocked, and winning two fouls.
He also created a key pass, won four aerial duels, and battled successfully in two ground duels.
The brace took his season tally to 22 goals and five assists in 28 matches across all competitions.
His impressive form will be crucial for Nigeria as they prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, with head coach Eric Chelle counting on his goal-scoring ability to secure vital victories.
