Super Eagles striker Boniface misses Bayer Leverkusen training amid interest from Al Nassr
Published: January 28, 2025Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has reportedly missed training on Tuesday morning, fueling growing speculation regarding his potential move to Saudi Arabia.
Boniface, who made the switch from Union Saint-Gilloise to Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2023, has been heavily linked with a move to Al Nassr FC as the winter transfer window nears its close.
The 24-year-old, who has been in exceptional form, is reportedly seen as a potential strike partner for Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr, especially after the departure of Anderson Talisca to Fenerbahçe.
Boniface's absence from training ahead of Leverkusen's Champions League clash against Sparta Praha has only added to the swirling rumors about his future.
According to Sky Sport Germany via Fussballeuropa, Boniface's absence is attributed to ongoing negotiations with Al Nassr, whose representatives are said to be in Germany meeting with Leverkusen officials and the player's camp.
Leverkusen, in turn, are open to the possibility of selling Boniface but is reportedly demanding a transfer fee in the region of 50 million euros. T
The Nigerian international has been a key player for the Bundesliga side, netting 29 goals in 49 appearances across all competitions since his arrival.
With the winter transfer window closing in the coming days, the future of the Nigerian striker remains uncertain, and it remains to be seen if Al Nassr can seal the deal before the deadline.
