Scottish giants Rangers are reportedly tracking the situation of Nigerian international Emmanuel Dennis, who currently plies his trade with English Premier League side Nottingham Forest, according to The Sun

The 27-year-old striker has been identified as a potential target for the Ibrox outfit as they seek to reinforce their attacking options for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign.

Dennis's situation at Forest is complex, with the Nigerian having fallen out of favor at the City Ground.

He last featured for the club in May 2023 and has since been omitted from the squad.

With 18 months remaining on his contract, Forest may be willing to consider offers for the striker.

Rangers' interest in Dennis is likely driven by their desire to bolster their attacking options following a spate of injuries.

The Ibrox outfit has been plagued by fitness issues in recent weeks, and the addition of a proven goal-scorer like Dennis would undoubtedly provide a welcome boost.

However, the Nigerian's substantial salary could pose a significant hurdle in any potential transfer.

Dennis is currently earning a lucrative £4 million per annum, which may be beyond Rangers' budget.

Dennis boasts an average CV, having scored 52 goals for various European clubs since turning professional, comprising 29 at Club Brugge, 14 at Watford, 6 at Zorya Lugansk, 2 at Forest and one at FC Cologne.

As the January transfer window enters its final stages, Rangers will be keeping a watchful eye on developments surrounding Dennis's situation.

If a deal can be agreed, it could prove to be a shrewd piece of business for the Scottish Premiership side.
