'Needs to stop' - PL top tackler Ndidi highlights what Leicester should fix ahead of Ipswich game

Wilfred Ndidi has revealed what has to change for Leicester City to get back to winning ways ahead of their Premier League contest with Ipswich Town at Portman Road tomorrow. 

After recording back-to-back victories against Bournemouth and Southampton, respectively, the Foxes lost to Nottingham Forest Forest at the King Power Stadium last Friday, putting a dent to their momentum.

They also got a spanking in the hands of Manchester United in the Carabao Cup at Old Trafford on Wednesday, which was their fifth loss of the season across all competitions.

The one-time Premier League champions have shown defensive frailties all season, but that has become more worrisome in recent games, having conceded the first goal in four of their last five games.

They did so against Arsenal, had to overcome a two-goal deficit to beat Southampton, and conceded the first goal in their losses to Forest and the Red Devils, respectively.

Speaking to Leicester City's official website ahead of their meeting with Ipswich Town, Ndidi revealed they have to stop the habit of conceding first to aid their chances of winning.

"It's something that needs to stop," the Nigeria international admitted. "We want to be in the lead, get the goal, and get the momentum going. But when you go a goal down, you have to give everything to get back into the game.

"When we concede first, it becomes a shock and an eye opener because we know we are a good team and we can actually win these games. We have to give more and then we just start [playing].

"Now we're trying as much as possible to find a way not to concede, get into the game and then keep it going. 

“We want to try and give everything at the beginning of the game, where we don't concede but we try to get a goal. That's what we have to do going forward.”

The Nigeria international has started all nine Premier League games for the Foxes this season and has four assists.

The 27-year-old has made 33 tackles in the English top flight, which is the joint-highest in the division.
