George's fine strike against Fulham U21s nominated for Chelsea's Goal of the Month for October
Published: November 01, 2024According to Chelsea's official website, talented forward of Nigerian descent, Tyrique George has been nominated for the club's Goal of the Month award for October, following his stunning strike against Fulham U21s in the Premier League 2.
The 18-year-old winger's impressive goal showcased his skill and agility as he expertly jinked his way into the box, leaving his marker trailing, before firing a precise shot into the far corner.
This exceptional display of skill has earned George a spot among Chelsea's Goal of the Month contenders which also includes Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, Pedro Neto and Nicolas Jackson amongst others from the academy and the women's team.
The Anglo-Nigerian's rise to prominence within Chelsea's ranks has been swift and impressive.
Having spent most of the pre-season training with the first team, the England youth international traveled with the squad to the United States, where he gained valuable experience in friendlies against Wrexham, Celtic, and Club America.
The London-born teenager committed his future to Chelsea in the off-season by signing a new three-year deal, with a club option for the 2027-2028 campaign.
George made his senior debut under head coach Enzo Maresca in the Conference League playoff round second leg against Servette, playing the final 30 minutes.
This milestone marks a significant step forward in his career. Throughout his time in Chelsea's academy, George has consistently impressed.
Last campaign, he made several appearances for the Under 21s and has since become a permanent part of the setup.
This season, George has continued to shine in the Premier League 2, registering four goal involvements in his last four matches in the division.
