Published: October 30, 2024
Promising defender Endurance Alade has made a decision on his international future ahead of next year's U20 Africa Cup of Nations, allnigeriasoccer.com has been told.
Born on March 29, 2005 in Vlissingen, the VV Spijkenisse rising star qualifies to represent Nigeria through his parents and the Netherlands, where he was born.
Alade has committed his international future to Nigeria and he's focused on earning a call-up to the Flying Eagles as they prepare for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Predominantly a right-back who is good in one versus one situations, he can also be deployed at centre-back should the need arise.
He started his footballing career at MSV ́71, before joining Excelsior Maassluis where he spent two years and has been playing for VV Spijkenisse since 2023.
Alade has opened a line of communication with Flying Eagles head coach Aliyu Zubairu ahead of a possible call-up to the national team.
The 19-year-old intends to train with Simon Kalika, the former Nigeria U20 assistant coach and Dutch citizen, ahead of a potential trial with the Flying Eagles early next year.
Alade has cited Nigeria legend Austin Okocha, and current Super Eagles players William Troost-Ekong and Ola Aina as his role models and also looks up to Arsenal center back William Saliba.
Dutch-born players Hamdi Akujobi and Joel Ideho have trained with the Flying Eagles in the past.
