Osimhen's proposed return to France under serious threat: PSG reject to use Kang-in Lee as makeweight
Published: July 22, 2024The chances of Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen leaving Napoli this summer is getting slimmer by the day.
According to reliable transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, talks between Napoli and PSG aren't advancing as the French club aren't ready to dance to the tune of their Italian counterparts.
Napoli had requested that PSG include Kang-in Lee as a makeweight in the deal but the Ligue 1 champions are not ready to do so and will not trigger the one-time Serie A top scorer's €130m release clause.
Despite reports stating that the French side are open to letting either Gonçalo Ramos or Kolo Muani leave, Romano has stated that the club are happy with the two forwards which now put Osimhen's move in doubt.
This development won't affect only the future of the Super Eagles forward but also Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku who has reportedly agreed to rejoin his former boss Antonio Conte at Napoli.
Osimhen was excused from Napoli's pre-season games against Anaune Val di Non and Mantova to prevent him from suffering an injury before his proposed transfer.
If PSG maintain their stance, the 25-year-old may have to force a move out of Naples though there is no guarantee that would work due to the strong-willed nature of club President Aurelio de Laurentiis regarding the transfer of his most valuable players.
