Teenage Nigerian CM agrees two new deals with West Ham amid Man Utd, Man City, Tottenham interest
Published: July 11, 2024West Ham United have reportedly fended off interest from top Premier League clubs to retain the services of Golden Eaglets-eligible central midfielder Chinaza Nwosu.
Chinaza, an England youth international, has agreed two new deals with the Hammers ahead of the forthcoming season.
Football Insider's transfer market correspondent Pete O'Rourke is reporting that West Ham have agreed terms on a professional contract with the 16-year-old Nwosu.
Before going pro as soon as he turns 17 next year, Nwosu will sign a scholarship deal with the Hammers.
The promising teenager has opted to continue his career at West Ham despite interest from Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.
Nwosu's camp had been approached by Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur regarding a possible transfer from the London Stadium this summer, but he has pledged his loyalty to West Ham.
In his final season as a schoolboy, he was involved in twelve matches in the U18 Premier League, eight of which he started, and was called up for the FA Youth Cup clash against Southampton but was a non-playing substitute.
On the international scene, Nwosu was part of the England U16 squad that won the Val De Marne Tournament in November 2023 and Football Federations Cup in February 2024.
