Agent confirms no offers yet for Arsenal, Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur-linked fullback Kayode
Published: July 10, 2024Michael Kayode, a rising star at Fiorentina, is garnering significant attention from top European clubs due to his impressive performances with the Italian side.
Kayode has been linked to English Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Aston Villa.
Born in Italy to Nigerian parents, the young fullback began his football journey with Juventus before moving to Fiorentina following a brief stint in Serie D with Gozzano.
Kayode joined Fiorentina in 2021 and quickly made his mark in their youth sector, winning both the Coppa Italia Primavera and the Supercoppa Italiana Primavera.
His standout performances with the youth team earned him a debut with the first team, where he made a strong impression in a 4-1 victory over Genoa on August 19, 2024.
Since then, the Super Eagles-eligible fullback has featured in 26 league games, scoring one goal and providing two assists.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, with top teams across Europe expressing interest.
Speaking on the transfer speculations, Kayode's agent, Andrea Ritorni, confirmed interest from Premier League and Bundesliga clubs.
"The market is so particular and ends on August 31. If we consider that they ask for him in the Premier League and Bundesliga, this means that I saw well with him, that Vigorelli worked well, and that Fiorentina was good," Ritorni stated.
Despite the interest, Ritorni emphasized that no negotiations have taken place and that Kayode is expected to remain in Italy for the upcoming season.
"But one thing is the request, which is nice and everyone likes it, another is to sit down and negotiate, something that has never happened so far. Then Kayode has a contract until the age of 24, so in short there are no other things.
"There has been something from Italy, but not much: mostly there is talk of the Premier League. Today Kayode is Fiorentina's, who are holding on to him.
"Palladino wants him. Then if an offer arrives Fiorentina will decide. As of today there is nothing concrete, they are just rumours.
"I think and hope that he will stay to mature for another year. If he has another great year here, then his value will also increase, because I am convinced that he will have an amazing season with Palladino."
