Confirmed: Golden Eaglets-eligible forward signs new deal with Tottenham Hotspur
Published: July 05, 2024Through their official website, English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur have announced the new intake of academy scholars for the 2024-2025 season, with Golden Eaglets-eligible forward Miracle Adewole part of the group.
Adewale has signed a two-year scholarship with Tottenham Hotspur and has been promoted to the U18 squad on a full-time basis with effect from July 1, 2024.
Twelve other promising players have signed scholarship deals, namely George Feeney, Reiss Elliott-Parris, Leon Myrtaj, Tynan Thompson, Harry Byrne, Tye Hall, Ronny Moncur, Jamel Beggs, Samal Bangura, Malachi Hardy, Elijah Upson and Dylan Thompson.
As a schoolboy, Adewole is one of the new scholars to have played in the U18 Premier League.
In his final season as a schoolboy, the winger appeared in fifteen matches in the U18 Premier League, registering seven goal involvements (one goal and six assists) in 1,017 minutes of action, and also featured in the U18 Premier League Cup.
The 16-year-old also made his debut in the FA Youth Cup against Brentford and played a further three games in the prestigious competition before Tottenham were beaten by eventual winners Manchester City in the quarterfinals.
Adewole is eligible to represent the Golden Eaglets by virtue of being born to a Nigerian father, Dickson Adeniyi Adewole, and also qualifies to play international football for Germany.
