Midfield all-rounder Carney Chukwuemeka has release clause of N76b in Chelsea contract
Published: July 03, 2024The future of England youth international of Nigerian descent Carney Chukwuemeka continues to be a topic of discussion in recent weeks despite the midfield all-rounder tied to Chelsea until at least 2028.
Italian giants AC Milan have reignited their interest in the 2022 European U19 champion, with a loan move being mooted.
Since landing at Stamford Bridge from Aston Villa in 2022, Chukwuemeka has struggled to establish himself in the Blues starting lineup due to injuries and managers' choice.
The Anglo-Austrian-Nigerian starlet has started just four games from a possible 101 in all competitions and was in action for 616 minutes.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chuwkuemeka would cost 40 million pounds (approximately N76 billion in Nigerian currency), if he were to leave Chelsea this summer, which is the value of his release clause.
Chelsea have no intention to sanction a loan move for Chuwkuemeka in the summer transfer window, but would be willing to listen to offers at the right price.
The Italian transfer market guru added that Chelsea have rejected all approaches for a potential loan in recent months.
Chukwuemeka attracted concrete interest from AC Milan and Barcelona before his move to Chelsea around two years ago.
