Breaking: Super Eagles midfielder Ndidi will extend his contract at Leicester City amid Everton links
Published: June 27, 2024Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report with certainty that Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi has ended speculation over his future by agreeing to extend his contract with Premier League new boys Leicester City.
Ndidi was supposed to become a free agent on July 1, 2024 but has decided to prolong his stay at the King Power Stadium despite speculation linking him with possible moves to top five European League clubs in Spain, France, Italy and England.
In addition, the 27-year-old, who captained the Super Eagles in their June internationals against South Africa and Benin, was also linked with almost all the top clubs in the Turkish Super Lig, including Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce, Besiktas, Galatasaray and Trabzonspor.
It was claimed on Wednesday that Everton were close to signing Ndidi after he accepted an offer from the Merseyside club but allnigeriasoccer.com can one hundred percent confirm that there is no truth to the report that he's heading to Goodison Park.
The Foxes, in the coming days, will announce that one of their long-serving and influential players, Ndidi has committed his future to the club.
The Nath Boys product played a key role as Leicester City, under manager Enzo Maresca, sealed an immediate return to the Premier League after winning the 2023-2024 EFL Championship.
Ndidi is a seasoned campaigner in the Premier League with 192 matches under his belt since making his debut in the division against Chelsea on January 14, 2017.
He has played nonstop at the Foxes for approximately seven and a half years after he was acquired from Belgian club Racing Genk.
