Published: May 07, 2024With a statement on their official website, Rotherham United have announced their retained and released list following the conclusion of the 2023-2024 season.
The Millers have confirmed that a total of eleven players will be departing the club at the end of their contracts, with five loanees returning to their parent clubs.
Arsenal's Hale End Academy product Tolaji Bola will embark on a new chapter in his career next season as he is among the players released by Rotherham United.
Bola transferred to Rotherham United in August 2021 after thirteen years on the books of Premier League club Arsenal, whom he joined at the age of nine.
In the January transfer window, he departed for League One club Burton Albion in search of regular first team football.
A fullback by trade, Bola is leaving Rotherham United after playing in nineteen matches across all competitions, registering three assists.
The Millers have also confirmed that another Nigerian defender Femi Seriki has returned to his parent club Sheffield United.
The 22-year-old made ten appearances for Rotherham United in the Championship following his loan move in the winter transfer market.
Twelve first teamers remain under contract and have been retained for the 2024-2025 season, including Super Eagles hopeful Hakeem Odoffin.
Odoffin was one of the club's standout players in the recently concluded season, scoring four goals in thirty-eight league appearances.
