Chelsea, Arsenal or Paris Saint-Germain? Agent reveals Victor Osimhen's next club
Published: April 30, 2024Speaking on 1 Football Club, a radio program hosted by Luca Cerchione broadcast on 1 Station Radio. Albanian agent Serxhio Mezi has revealed that Victor Osimhen will be joining French champions Paris Saint-Germain despite interest from Premier League duo Chelsea and Arsenal.
Although he signed a new contract with Napoli last December, keeping him at the Diego Maradona Stadium until 2026, the reigning African Footballer of the Year has decided that he will pack his bags and leave the Parthenopeans at the end of the season.
Chelsea are in the market for a marquee centre forward to solve their goalscoring problems and have identified Osimhen as a top target but complying with Financial Fair Play Regulations (FFP) could be the main obstacle to a potential deal, meaning they have to sell some of their key players to fund the transfer of the Napoli number 9.
Arsenal want to bolster the squad with a prolific goalscorer and have been linked with Osimhen but there is an obstacle that makes it extremely difficult for the Nigerian to land at the Emirates Stadium - the release clause of 130 million euros in his contract with Napoli.
Paris Saint-Germain have expressed a strong interest in acquiring Osimhen as a successor to Kylian Mbappé, who is nearing the end of his contract and linked with a move to Real Madrid.
In quotes relayed by Casa Napoli, Serxhio Mezi said: "The Nigerian will leave, he will join Paris Saint-Germain. I know that Napoli are interested in Albion Rrahmani, who plays in Albania.
"Furthermore, contacts are registered for Broja. Much, however, will depend on the choice of the player, who would like to land in a big club. Broja was contacted by the director of the Azzurri."
Osimhen was a key member of the Napoli side that won the Serie A for the first time in thirty three years in 2022-2023, contributing 26 goals and 5 assists in 32 games.
