Two Golden Eaglets-eligible defenders to sign new deals with Tottenham, striker to depart
Published: March 15, 2023
It seems very likely that Tottenham Hotspur's Golden Eaglets-eligible center forward Justin Oguntolu will continue his career with an English Football League club next season, allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report.
Several unnamed clubs in the Championship and League One are keenly monitoring the situation of the promising teenager, with his contract at Tottenham Hotspur expiring at the end of the season.
Oguntolu is a striker who is comfortable anywhere across a front three and likes to drop in, link up play, get in behind and score goals.
An U16 player at the start of the 2022-2023 season, he was at Tottenham's north London rivals, Arsenal for some years before he was poached by the Lilywhites.
Meanwhile, Tottenham have made contract decisions on two other Golden Eaglets-eligible players in the shape of Timi Adekunle and Theo Adelusi, who was signed from MK Dons in 2021.
Central defenders Adekunle and Adelusi have accepted a two-year scholarship and will be among Tottenham's new intake of academy scholars for the 2023-2024 season.
The two Anglo-Nigerian players will put pen to paper on a scholarship deal, which comes into effect from July 1, 2023.
Adekunle and Adelusi will be fully promoted to Tottenham Hotspur U18 team next season.
