Davies is a direct replacement for Calvin Bassey as he is capable of playing as a left-back and in central defence just as the Nigeria international.
Rangers are on the lookout for defensive reinforcements with the sale of Bassey to Ajax Amsterdam while Leon Balogun's contract was not renewed at the end of last season.
The 22-year-old is already in Amsterdam for a routine medical examination ahead of his unveiling in the coming days.
Bassey departs Rangers after 65 appearances as a professional including fifty in 2021-2022.
On the international stage, the Leicester City-reared defender has started the last five matches played by the Super Eagles.
