2017 Super Eagles invitee on parade for Wood in 4-2 loss to Chelsea XI with Kante

2017 Super Eagles invitee Femi Ilesanmi was on parade for National League side Boreham Wood in a 4-2 loss to Chelsea in a pre-season friendly at LV BET Stadium Meadow Park on Friday evening.
The Chelsea side was largely made up of development squad players, however, N'Golo Kante, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Baba Rahman were the notable inclusions in the starting lineup.
Ilesanmi, who trained with the Super Eagles in London back in March 2017 and featured in an in-house game, started for the fifth tier club.
After Marsh converted a spot kick to give the home team the lead in the 26th minute, Leo Castledine scored the equaliser with five minutes left in the first half.
Jez Davies made it 2-1 with a deflected strike that left the goalkeeper stranded just before the hour mark and he grabbed his second of the game in the 73rd minute when he pounced on a rebound and then slotted home, before Mason Burstow buried the ball in the net to increase the lead.
Boreham Wood pulled one back through Mendy whose effort found the bottom corner in the 90th minute.
A defender by trade, Ilesanmi, who is pals with Super Eagles stars Alex Iwobi and Ola Aina, has been on the books of Boreham Wood since 2018 after previously playing for the youth teams of AFC Wimbledon and Queens Park Rangers, and the senior teams of Dagenham & Redbridge, Histon, York City, Ashford Town and Dover Athletic.
