Chelsea loanee Anjorin finally makes his debut for Huddersfield Town in win vs Peterborough
Published: March 04, 2022Chelsea loanee Faustino Anjorin finally made his competitive debut for Huddersfield Town as they recorded a comprehensive 3-0 win over Peterborough United in a Championship clash staged at John Smith's Stadium on Friday night.
Terriers' Spanish manager Carlos Corberan had hinted at the England U20 international of Nigerian descent being involved in some capacity for the visit of the Posh during his pre-match press conference.
Anjorin was named in the matchday squad and it wasn't to make up the numbers as he got a taste of action for the last nineteen minutes, coming off the bench to replace Duane Holmes.
The attacking midfielder resumed full training with his teammates at Huddersfield Town this week after recovering from a long-term foot injury he suffered at Lokomotiv Moscow, where he spent the first half of the season on loan.
Huddersfield Town were quick off the blocks, scoring through Danel Sinani and Tom Lees inside seven minutes, taking a 2-0 lead into the break, and Lee nodded home his second of the game in the 72nd minute to seal the win.
Anjorin debuted for Huddersfield Town in their 40th game of the season in all competitions.
The 20-year-old now has games under his belt in the Premier League, Championship, FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League and Europa League since turning professional.
