Nigerian central defender keeps Tottenham Hotspur waiting on contract extension
English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have not given up on tying Nigerian youngster Tobi Omole to a new deal, allnigeriasoccer.com understands.

Tottenham Hotspur are pleased with the central defender's contribution to the development squad ever since he joined the club from north London rivals Arsenal in October 2020 following a successful trial.

Spurs have offered a contract renewal to Omole with his current deal set to run out at the end of the season but the 22-year-old has yet to put pen to paper, meaning his name would appear as one of those players offered new contracts on the Premier League retained list in June if there is no further development.

The Hale End Academy product, despite his Arsenal connections, has played his way into the hearts of Tottenham Hotspur fans with some strong performances at the heart of defence for the development squad.

Since the start of 2021-2022, Omole has appeared in thirteen matches in the Premier League, scoring two goals.

He has been registered by Tottenham Hotspur as a first team player in the Premier League squad but his only squad involvement to date was against Crystal Palace in September.

Omole was a non-playing substitute against Rennes and NS Mura in the Europa Conference League.
