Confirmed : 19yo Belgian-Nigerian forward signs new deal with Southampton
Published: February 15, 2022Through their official website, Premier League side Southampton have announced that Kazeem Olaigbe has committed his future to the club by putting pen to paper on a new contract.
The new agreement will keep the Belgian-Nigerian forward at the St Mary's Stadium until June 2024.
The 19-year-old has been rewarded with a new deal following his stellar displays for Southampton B this season.
Olaigbe is the leading scorer for the Saints reserve team with thirteen goals in all competitions, including nine in the Premier League 2.
A Belgian U19 international, he arrived at Southampton in the summer of 2019 from Jupiler Pro League powerhouse Anderlecht,
On his new deal, Olaigbe said : "I feel very good, I’m very happy to have signed a new deal with the club.
"I can’t wait to start again and keep playing more games. We had a long conversation because there were also other clubs interested in me but I thought, for me, the best decision is to stay.
"The club has bought a lot of young players through to play with the first-team so I think I can prove myself and get a chance."

Olaigbe was an unused substitute in Southampton's 3-2 win over Swansea City in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup last month - his first and only call-up to the first team so far.
