Iwobi took up some lovely positions and came close to scoring in the 37th minute but his swerving effort went inches pas the post.
Two headed goals by Seamus Coleman and Michael Keane put the Toffees 2-0 up at the break and Everton were home and dry in the 78th minute when Anthony Gordon got on the scoresheet.
Watford are still searching for the first goal under new boss Roy Hodgson after suffering a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Brighton & Hove at Vicarage Road.
While Emmanuel Dennis started and was in action for ninety minutes, international teammates William Troost-Ekong, Oghenekaro Etebo and Samuel Kalu were left out of the matchday squad.
Neal Maupay hooked Tariq's low cross into the top corner from just inside the area to open the scoring a minute before halftime and Adams forced the ball home to make it 2-0 following a goalmouth scramble at minute 83.
In a London derby at the Brentford Community Stadium, Brentford and Crystal Palace played out a goalless draw.
Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka and Eberechi Eze monitored proceedings from the bench for the whole of the game, and Michael Olise came on to replace Jordan Ayew with twelve minutes left on the clock.
