Nigeria target Olise is Premier League player with most goal contributions in 2022
Published: February 10, 2022According to football statisticians OPTA, Nigeria Football Federation target Michael Olise is the Premier League player with the most goal contributions in all competitions in 2022.
The Crystal Palace winger has directly participated in seven goals (3 goals, 4 goals), more than any other Premier League player.
Olise found the back of the net in his first match this calendar year, in a 3-2 loss to West Ham United in a Premier League game on January 1, followed by strikes against Millwall (Jan 8)and Hartlepool United (Feb 5) in the Emirates FA Cup.
The former France U18 international also registered assists against the aforementioned opponents while his fourth assist came against Norwich City in the most recent game played by the Eagles on February 9.
Overall, the Reading academy product has ten goal contributions (4 goals, 6 assists) from eighteen all-competition appearances in 2021-2022.
Olise was handed a late call-up to the Super Eagles squad for their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho but there were some restrictions that prevented him from traveling to Africa.
The 20-year-old is also eligible to represent England, where he was born, and Algeria through his mother.
