Published: February 08, 2022Premier League side Chelsea have updated their UEFA Youth League squad following the close of the January transfer window.
The Blues are the joint most successful team in the history of the competition, along with Barcelona, with two titles won, and will do battle with Racing Genk at the KRC Genk Arena - Stadium B on Wednesday afternoon.
Seven players of Nigerian descent have been included in Chelsea's revised squad for the knockout rounds of the UEFA Youth League.
2019 Golden Eaglets invitee goalkeeper Prince Adegoke is available for selection and the same applies to fullbacks Richard Olise, Derrick Abu and Somto Boniface, and strikers Tudor Mendel-Idowu, Louis Flower and Bryan Fiabema.
Adegoke, Abu, Mendel-Idowu and Boniface have yet to make their debuts for Chelsea in the UEFA Youth League while Flower, Olise and Fiabema have appearances to their names.
The 15-year-old Boniface has been offered a scholarship deal by the Blues ahead of next season which would keep him at
Stamford Bridge until at least the summer of 2024 if he signs on the
dotted line.
Super Eagles defender Ola Aina is Chelsea's all-time record appearance holder in the UEFA Youth League with 20 games.
