Ex-Leeds United striker suggests Tottenham boss would go all out to sign Nigeria international
Former Leeds United star Noel Whelan has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur would go all out to sign Nigeria international Victor Osimhen when the transfer window reopens for business in the summer.

The north London club have reignited their interest in the 2015 U17 World Cup winner after an initial approach was rejected in the January transfer window.

Osimhen's manager Osita Okolo exclusively informed allnigeriasoccer in June 2020 that Tottenham were one of the five Premier League teams that made contact with the Super Eagles star before his switch to Napoli.

It has been suggested by Football Insider that the 23-year-old is valued in the region of 70 million pounds (or 83m euros) by Napoli but it is believed that 100m euros is the more realistic figure to prise him from the Blues.

Tottenham Hotspur's Italian football tactician Antonio Conte knows all about the qualities of Osimhen from his time managing Inter Milan.

Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur were brought in to bolster the club last month but the Lilywhites missed out on two other key targets in Luis Diaz and Osimhen.

"Do I think he’s happy with just two? Absolutely not. I think he’d have liked the four he wanted," Whelan said to Football Insider.

“However, we know the January window is a difficult window to do that. Two out of four, 50 per cent, is not bad.

"The summer, that’s where I think their big business is going to be done. There are probably targets they couldn’t have got now anyway.

"The summertime is the big one for Tottenham, I think that’s where they’ve got to get it right. Conte will go all out to try and get the men that he wants".
