Lookman's goal ruled out, Nddi, Iheanacho feature as Leicester are well beaten by Chelsea
Published: November 20, 2021Chelsea have moved six points clear at the top of the Premier
League table after a routine 3-0 victory over Leicester City at the King
Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
All three
Nigerian players were in action for the Foxes, with Wilfred Ndidi going
the distance while Kelechi Iheanacho came off the bench to replace
Super Eagles hopeful Ademola Lookman at half-time.
Chelsea demonstrated why they are currently the top team in Europe, taking an emphatic 2-0 lead into the interval.
Antonio
Rudiger popped up with the opening goal from a set-piece beautifully
delivered by the former Leicester city fullback Ben Chilwell and another
ex-Fox N'Golo Kante came up with a stunning second in the 28th minute.
Leicester City had the ball in the net briefly in the 24th minute but Lookman's effort was cancelled out rightly for offside.
Only a fine stop from goalkeeper Mendy denied Daniel Amartey from halving the deficit in the 64th minute after he was teed up by Iheanacho.
Two Chelsea substitutes combined for the third goal as Christian Pulisic poked the ball home past Kasper Schmeichel after a pass from Hakim Ziyech.
The third goal scored by Chelsea took the fire out of Leicester City and the score remained unchanged until the final whistle.
