EFL Championship : Billing on target but Cherries unbeaten run ends; Barnsley's Victor scores
Published: November 03, 2021Allnigeriasocccer.com's round up on the Nigeria-eligible players that got on the scoresheet for their teams in the EFL Championship on Wednesday, November 3.
Bournemouth's unbeaten start to the 2021-2022 season has ended at sixteen after losing 2-1 to Preston North End at the Vitality Stadium.
One-cap Denmark international Philip Billing now has a goal involvement of eight (6 goals and 2 assists) in fifteen appearances after his goal on the hour mark against Preston.
The central midfielder restored parity for the Cherries with a left-footed shot into the bottom corner but they fell behind again in the 78th minute.
Despite Billing's brilliant performances in October, he has not been included in the latest Denmark squad for the upcoming 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Faroe Islands and Scotland.
Elsewhere, at Oakwell Stadium, Nigerian-born center forward Victor Adeboyejo opened his account for the season to help Barnsley secure a 2-1 win over Wayne Rooney's Derby County.
After Sam Baldock scored to give the visitors the lead at minute 24, Adeboyejo equalised with a deflected effort six minutes before half-time.
Adeboyejo fired blanks in his first eleven games of the season before ending his drought against the Rams.
