'He is tough' - Premier League pundit on why Brentford midfielder is called 'Frank the Tank'
Published: September 30, 2021English Premier League pundit Darren Lewis has praised Brentford for their recruitment policy.
The Bees brought in Kristoffer Ajer, Frank Onyeka, Yoane Wissa and Alvaro Fernández for their maiden season in the Premier League, and have also acquired free agent Zanka.
Brentford got rid of their academy at the end of the 2015-2016 season because they felt the top clubs were poaching their young players before breaking into the first team.
This summer, Brentford bolstered their B team with the signings of Daniel Oyegoke and Myles Peart-Harris from Arsenal and Chelsea respectively.
Lewis revealed that the Bees will give a good account of themselves in the Premier League because they have signed quality players including holding midfielder Frank Onyeka, who has been labelled 'Frank the Tank' due to his no-nonsense approach.
"If you look through the spine of the team there is quality, they have recruited very well, Kristoffer Ajer the center half, Frank Onyeka," Lewis said on Premier League Productions' The Kelly and Wrighty Show.
"They call him 'Frank The Tank' and you can see why because he is tough. His tackle and his distribution very good."
He added : "I think they have signed really good players and that is going to take them a long way".

Brentford are proving to be a descent team, beating Arsenal on the opening night of the season and played out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Liverpool last weekend.
