17-year-old Danish-Nigerian midfielder scores first goal of the season for FC Nordsjaelland
Published: February 28, 2021
Denmark youth international of Nigerian parentage, Tochi Chukwuani scored his first goal of the season as FC Nordsjaelland and Aalborg shared the spoils with a 2-2 draw at the Right to Dream Park on Sunday afternoon.
Five minutes in, Nordsjaelland were off to a terrific start thanks to Chukwuani who slotted home from close range after the ball was put on a plate for him by Kamaldeen Sulemana following a swift counter attack.
His second goal in Nordsjaelland colours comes 226 days after he netted his first senior goal in a 6-3 loss to Superliga champions FC Midtjylland during the 2019-2020 campaign.
Tim Prica equalised for the visitors in the 22nd minute but a goal from Maxwell Woledzi restored Nordsjaelland's one-goal advantage before Iver Fossum's strike from the spot helped Aalborg salvage a draw.
Chukwuani made way for Ghana U20 international Ibrahim Sadiq in the 65th minute.
The 17-year-old Chukwuani has played 16 games in all competitions this season and was in action for 307minutes.
He scored on his debut for Denmark U19 national team in a 3-1 win against Poland in October 2020.
