Glasgow Rangers Refused To Pay Five Million Euros To Sign Ligue 1 Top Scorer In 2021
Published: February 19, 2021
According to Het Laatste Nieuws, Glasgow Rangers passed up the opportunity to sign Terem Moffi last summer before his move to French Ligue 1 club Lorient.
The Super Eagles hopeful has taken the Ligue 1 by storm and is the top goalscorer in the division in 2021 with six goals including a brace against Monaco on Valentine's Day.
Rangers refused to meet KV Kortrijk's five million euros asking price for Moffi and they must be rueing the decision not to sign the 21-year-old after his scintillating performances in France.
Moffi is represented by Nigerian intermediary Emeka Obasi who brokered the deals that took Joe Aribo and Malcolm Ebiowei to Rangers.
Apart from Rangers, Brest, Saint-étienne and Galatasaray were also linked with a move for the former Golden Eaglets invitee.
He showed his quality in the Belgian First Division A before he was poached by Lorient, scoring five goals in nine appearances for KV Kortrijk.
Moffi previously turned out for Lithuanian clubs Kauno Žalgiris and FK Riteriai.
