Anjorin Makes Cameo As Chelsea Rout Morecambe In Emirates FA Cup
Published: January 10, 2021Chelsea are through to the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup after thrashing League Two opponents Morecambe 4-0 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
In a David vs. Goliath contest, goals from Mason Mount and Timo Werner gave Frank Lampard's team a 2-0 lead at the break.
Hudson-Odoi further stretched Chelsea's advantage three minutes into the second half, before Havertz completed the rout five minutes from time.
Anglo-Nigerian midfielder Faustino Anjorin played the last ten minutes for the Blues, replacing Chelsea's third goalscorer Hudson-Odoi.
The England youth international had trained with the first team all week with a view to playing his first game in the FA Cup and he was given a chance to impress as well as gain experience with the first team against Morecambe this afternoon.
With his cameo appearance against the Shrimps, Anjorin has now played at least one game for Chelsea in all competitions with the exception of the Europa League.
His other first team appearances to date came against Grimsby Town (League Cup), Everton (Premier League) and Krasnodar (Champions League).
